    Have just skimmed through the thread and wanted to say a big well done to you for having your light bulb moment and facing up to your debts.

    Was thinking it would save on petrol and enable you to downsize to one car if you moved nearer to your husbands place of work but then I thought it wouldnt probably work for kids schools? So ignore my ramblings lol but keep up the good work and keep smiling! :D

    Just popped in to say that surely your mortgage payments can be offset against the rent received on the flat? I have owned two properties in the past and this was always the case then. Please get an accountant on one of the boards to give you up to date and accurate advice. Good luck!

    Only the mortgage interest is allowable against tax- not the repayments.
