Have looked on search engine and came up with nothing. Does anyone have any idea what this is?
Thank you to anyone who can answer.

Is this about salary sacrifice? That is, you give up part of your taxable income in exchange for some benefit and thereby potentially reduce your NI payments?
What is the context in which you have seen these things mentioned? What job/position is it in relation to?0 -
Thank you for your response. Sorry it took so long to reply but I have been without internet.
My partner works on a van with 2 other employees. They go into housing associations properties and get them ready for new tenants.
We have no idea what it is only that there is something called STEER ALLOWANCE on his wage slip. They take so much from him and pay part of it back. We have no idea what it is, thinking maybe he needs to ask what this is.
They have put us through hell recently and he has had his yearly salary cut by £4000 per year!
Wonder if he should approach his union?
Thank you for any help or advice,

How about your hubbie just asking his HR dept. to explain this. Then, when he has found out, you can educate all of us.Never Knowingly Understood.

Tax Treatment re various occupations is at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/eim65799.htm and there are links to various documents, including a clutch re lorry drivers. Think that may help.0
