I'm sitting her in pain & feeling very sorry for myself. In September I went to Cyprus on a holiday I'd won, whilst we were out on an archaeological site I fell awkwardly - I managed to save myself from hitting the ground & tore my rotator cuff ( shoulder) muscle. It was healing nicely when I aggravated it on a bus which suddenly stopped. It didn't seem to be healing & I went to the doctor who seems to have made the tear worse when trying to find the cause & extent of my pain. I've now got pain killers that make me spacey & can't take too often because they are addictive.

Defo sympathy coming your way. Have you considered trying a pain clinic? Ask at your GP? And/or hypnotherapy? There are techniques one can learn to can help deal with pain better. Hopefully, won't be a permanent thing.
I can give you one small technique to try. Won't solve it, but might help a little. Works with all sorts of things, to reduce headache pain, even needing to pee...
Imagine there is a dial in the middle of your forehead that controls the pain. In your mind, gently and very gradually turn the dial slowly to reduce that pain. You're only turning it down one small notch at a time. If you try this and really focus, it might help. Might take a few goes to make it work though.
