Newbie 2nd hand seller needs HELP!!

I have books, dvd's, cd's, child's clothes and shoes and possibly mobile phones to sell to hopefully raise a little money towards Christmas.
I'm on my local fb selling page but have only bought from so far. eBay doesn't like me...every time I try to use it it crashes on any computer!!! Am thinking of Maybe using for some items those websites that buy stuff off you. Can't think of any names now though.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You mean sites like Musicmagpie? Facebook selling pages and Gumtree will get you more money and if the phones are worth more than a few pounds then not only will you get more that way but you don't have the risk of it being lost, not getting paid or getting paid less (as can often happen with buy for cash sites). Both facebook and gumtree are sold as seen, cash on collection which makes it simple and gets you instant cash.
Not sure why ebay would keep crashing on you. What computer and browser are you using?
Books are hard to sell now and due to postage they are rarely worth putting on ebay or Amazon unless they are non-fiction (and even then not all are worth something).
DVDs and CDs are also not generally worth a great deal. You could always try Amazon if you can't find a way to use ebay.
Clothes would probably do well on ebay but you have to make sure you describe them very well and take plenty of photos. Otherwise I'd say facebook is probably the best way to go.
Be aware to take into consideration postage costs and fees if you do sell online.
The other option for DVDs would be CEX and Grainger Games. I believe CEX also take CDs, don't think Grainger Games do though. Both have online trade-in systems where you can check what prices they'll give. I'd highly recommend trading instore though if you have one nearby. They should also match (or even beat) a trade in price from the other store, although as with the buy for cash sites they probably won't be worth a great deal.
If you have any local bookshops check to see if they will buy books. Again, won't be a lot. Maybe 20-50p a book. Less hassle though.0
