Hi guys,
I apologise in advance if this has been asked. I have searched but cannot find!
I am looking to earn some extra ££ to pay off a few things and boost my income. I do not have a degree but have recently taken my TEFL.
I am really keen on teaching via Skype or other Webcam based way.
I am wondering if anyone has succesfully done this? Can anyone recommend any good websites to sign up with? Or just general advice.
Thank you in advance

Hi,
*This is advice is useful to anyone who has a special skill or qualification and wants to make some extra money. *
Firstly, join one or more of the major freelance websites like Odesk, Elance, and Freelancer.
Then make yourself available for hire in your specialist area. Skype is ideal for teaching as you can connect with people anywhere in the world. The company will normally take a 10% cut of your fee and pay you via paypal once you have completed each contract.
TIP - This is really important! These freelance sites are excellent and VERY busy with both buyers and sellers. However, initially you will not stand out from the crowd because you have no feedback. Therefore, offer your services really cheap to begin with and then as you receive feedback increase your fee. Once you start the ball rolling you can do really well but getting those first few orders can be tough.
I hope that helps0 -
Be aware with those freelance web sites you pay a fee to the site, and if you're already pitching low and get unlucky with a client you can lose money. As timing would have it, a colleague published this just this week...

definitely a thourough piece of advice! I'll take into consideration, cuz I'm also interested in such king of cooperation with other via skype:cool:No sacrifice, no victory.:j0 -
That's a great point about the platform fees. I mean People Per Hour take a cut of 15% which is far too high in my opinion!0

15% is heavy. oDesk is 10% and Elance is 8.75%.
I use both and have had a lot of success from oDesk.0 -
