Suspicious Spammy letter asking for bank details ???

I Just opened a letter from McCann Birmingham, It says "Dear Supplier" ??
It goes on to ask for my bank details as they are updating their systems to BACS.
It tells me how to submit my invoices.??
I rang the company twice and get put through to accounts team which in turn goes to VMail.

I left a message quoting my reference number they gave me and saying I think you have me confused with someone else.

They also call me "Miss" in the letter but I've been a "Mrs over 12 years now" .. Hmmmmm ..

I don't recall any dealing with this company and have no idea who they are.

I'm only posing on here as I thought they may have picked up my details from comping and wondered if anyone else has had the same thing?

Any help would be appreciated.

I got this letter too, I just put mine in the bin, after googling them and not having a clue why they would write to me..interesting to see why they have sent these out to random people.

I've also emailed the contact address from thier website so I will let you know if I hear anything.
I think they have competition entries confused with suppliers (whatever suppliers are)

Ok they emailed back saying it was an error and apologised. Still didn't say how they got my details. But still can just bin it now.!

Have never heard of the company, are they genuine? Just seems quite a big "mistake" to make asking loads of random people bank details

This is bad enough by email, but soooo much worse by letter. TBH if this is as suspicious as it sounds, I would probably pass it on to Trading Standards or even possibly the police. If it's innocent, no harm done. If it isn't, well just think of the vulnerable people out there who will fall for it and happily send off their bank details.
