ON JUNE 28, Aldi supermarket will be bringing its shopping concept to Bexleyheath High Street.
Aldi currently has around 300 stores in the UK and the Bexleyheath store will be its third opening in the south east within a month.
Despite fierce competition in the grocery retail market in the UK, Aldi is driving forward its store openings to meet current demand for its products and shopping concept.
Aldi's business concept is simple - the best quality products at the lowest possible price.
By keeping its business operation simple, Aldi continues its commitment to an environmentally-friendly business approach.
Since it began in the UK in 1991, Aldi has always charged for carrier bags.
Area manager Steve Huetson said: "We find this encourages people to reuse the bags instead of throwing them away.
"At least 35 per cent of our customers reuse our carrier bags or our reusable bag."
He added: "In addition to this, we have weekly feedback from the stores about our products with regards to packaging and how we can improve the way we package products and to reduce the overall packaging.
"This has helped a great deal to reduce wasteful packaging from our suppliers."
Aldi is also increasing its range of organic products it stocks on a daily basis.
Mr Huetson said: "Our range is increasing every week, our latest products are organic compost and fertiliser.
"This is proving very popular and it's really pleasing to see both us and our customers are taking steps towards helping the environment."
In order to celebrate its new store opening on June 28, Aldi has four organic hampers of food and drink worth £125 to give away
