Hi guys wondering if you could help me, I was looking a replacement remote control key for my car, i have the spare which is the only one that came with the car.
After being around a few places in Belfast city centre (and the dealer £160 for a key!!!) I haven't found anywhere that would do this.
Any ideas, I'm willing to travel to get a decent priced key - not like overpriced dealerships!
Thanks,
NI10

It depends on the key and if it needs programing. Have you tried Timpsons? I asked them about a key for my old Citroen then choked when he said it was a dealer only fob and I was looking over £100.0

Try Marlowe. They are on the Antrim Road near the Water Works and also at Forestside.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0

There are plenty of non franchise dealers who can program them in for less0 -

Sometimes the owner's handbook provides instructions for programming keys although I can't remember for sure if that's for existing keys or new ones. Surely it's worth a flick through the manual to see if there's anything on it though?0 -
+1 for Timpsons.0

Ridiculous price these guys charge. Don't think Timsons, good as they are, can code replacement keys. I have heard of keys being ordered from car dealerships in France and Germany at a small fraction of the cost of a key from a UK dealer. Apparently some makes can be cut and coded from the car chassis number. Could be worth a look!0

It's the key which is the expensive part as far as I know because it contains the microchip gubbins. It gets coded through inserting it into the ignition and carrying out certain actions. I think that's because each car has an individual code which can only be replicated by copying it onto another key.0 -
Sorry, just getting back to the MSE forum now.
Its for a C4 over the weekend i've been told to get a 4 digit code from citroen to get the new key.
