I haven't been on here for a while now but saw your post and wanted to reply.

My husband and I went br in Dec 2009, discharged in June 2010.

I recently opened us both ISA's with some money we inherited through Aldermore Bank, I hadn't heard of them until I saw them mentioned on one of Martins emails.

I went for a cash ISA and it went through fine, hubby went for a 30 day notice and only had to send in proof of address, It was all sorted out very quickly, both were opened online.

    Hope this helps.
