Good Morning All,
I tried a number of similar questions on the "Discussion" forum but got little to no responses so I thought I would try here as there is a good knowledge base.
I'm looking to get hold of a number of items I had a a kid, complete with all the original boxes. One is the Kellog's village collection including the original paper cut-out of the village - bleow is a copy of the vehicles involved.

Any help would be great.

I take it i am stating the obvious here - Ebay?0 -
Several websites for toy collectors here which may be of some use to you.
http://www.collectors-club-of-great-britain.co.uk/Diecast-Collecting/Magazines/Toy-Collectors-Price-Guide/_ch26_mg6
http://www.tortoys.co.uk/
I got those from Google using the search terms, "vintage toy collectors".0 -
"vintage toy collectors".
sellers might be more appropriate! ;-)
I occasionally buy and sell vintage toys both here and north america.
The web is full of scam sites but Ive bought and sold off tortoys before and they are legit.
Ebay is your best bet as its killed off most other things, there are the likes of gumtree and buyandsell and so on but you might get scammed or people genuinely think their stuff is worth a lot more than it actually is.
The market (as with the housing market) peaked a couple of years ago so you have the problem of people holding on to things in the hope they might become worth more than they paid which may not happen for a while.
Getting back to your question, ebay is probably the best resource but you will pay through the nose at this time of year as then and just into new year people get nostalgic either for themselves or for presents for people. I bought my brother something a couple of weeks ago for less than a quid and I would guarantee that in 2 weeks time people will pay over a tenner for it on ebay.
Its a case of watching the feedback counts and looking for things and taking your time. Do you want something for nostalgia purposes or do you want that mint in box version? If the later then be very careful, particularly with things that can go for a lot of money that they arent reproductions or knock offs. If the former then fill your boots!
Im not really into the toy car/vehicle aspect which is strange because its everything I loved as a kid, Im concentrate more on the stuff I had in and around 8-15 years old.
I had a walk round some of the vintage toy stores in London earlier this year and most if not all list things on ebay.
If its something specific then email tortoys and get a rough estimate of price and then sit and wait.
Collectors clubs might be of interest as people are usually trading up (such as without box items to with box items) and so might be interested in selling on lesser value more 'played with' stuff but in general they are more interested in buying.
Good luck and if you are going on ebay, dont do it nostalgic and drunk...
..dangerous mix and how I got started with it all ;-)

I've done all the usual checks including Ebay, one item that I cannot find at all is a Corgi Junior gift set which has a twin red transporter trailer (coloured red) with accompanying cars. The attachement below is as close as I can get but the trailer is yellow:

You're not the first to give that reaction but the truth is I was at my parent's house recently and found all of my old toy cars but I never kept the boxes, I'm now trying to correct this omission.0 -

Funny, I have a LOAD of the old Original Star Wars stuff in the Attic at my parents house. Unfortunately, being a kid at the time I actually played with it...... The idea that I should leave it in it's box because it'll be worth a fortune in 30 odd years time didn't cross my mind.... shame really. Wonder how much you could get for a 3 legged AT-AT these days ??0 -

None of my bits and bobs are worth anything even with the boxes, it's more of a little project.0 -
If you are not doing this for resale, and all you want are some boxes for display, why not buy repro ones?
There are plenty of sellers producing repro boxes for main brands such as Corgi and Dinky.
Or you can buy a CD of the templates and print them yourself. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
