Paid less than expected

On the 4th of this month I quit my job and my manager agreed to pay me for November even though I left the same day.

Today I check my bank account and instead of the full months pay I expected they have given me less than £500! That's not even two weeks pay....I left a message and emailed them for an explanation but I can't help feeling cheated!

I have it in writing that I would be paid for this month so surely a whole months at is what u should have got?

Had you taken more holidays this leave year than you'd accrued? If so that could account for the dufference.

What does your payslip say about the amount, are there any deductions listed?

I would have thought that any holiday over and above what I'm entitled to wouldn't amount to over £700! As for a payslip don't have it yet, it'll be posted to me as I'm no longer there

Was your boss expecting you to work throughout November rather than leave on the 4th?

Well I didn't expect to leave the same day, but after a discussion with my boss we agreed I should - she said in our meeting that even though I was leaving that day she would pay me for the whole month "to help me out" I have it in writing to including holiday pay owed - hubby thinks they're trying it on - I'm just annoyed at having less money than I expected :(

    What were you expecting?

Have they replied to the email?

How long have you worked there ? Were you liable to pay back any costs of training, uniforms etc in your CoE ?
Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............
  • I guess they have paid your your "official" entitlement.
The couple of days worked and the holidays accrued.
Proof will be in the payslip.
    Sit tight.

Evening all, sorry no update till now - been travelling all day

I emailed my ex boss and called to follow up - she spoke with payroll who confirmed they had ballsed up, only paying me holiday pay owed and not the months wages....she arranged a CHAPS payment and the rest owing to me - over £1100 was in my account within the hour! Result!
