Application process - Leeds BS

Hi all,

Apologies is this has been covered before - I did search for it but couldn't find anything in the forums.

I just wondered if anyone knew how the application process goes at Leeds?

We submitted our application almost two weeks ago, had a call from the broker today asking for a few more documents, but also got a letter from Leeds today saying the society has carried out an initial assessment and they're liaising with the broker for any outstanding requirements 'in order that a mortgage offer can be produced as soon as possible'.

What I'm asking is if this has been through/is going through the underwriting process already, or is the 'initial assessment' like the decision in principle (which we already have)?

No valuation instructed as yet.

I went direct to the Leeds and it took about 6 weeks including additional documents and arranging the valuation but my solicitors were also doing all the searched etc during this time.

I found them very helpful and it was the most stressful time of my life as a FTB.

Not sure what the initial assessment is i am afraid. I hope it goes well.

Thanks NorthernOne. My broker tells me not to worry and it's quite often that Leeds request additional documents as they are very thorough.

I've got the solicitors in place so I'll start them on the searches now, and fingers crossed it all goes through ok!
