Am I the only one annoyed about Energy companies charging a daily fee for Gas and electric . They charge us up to £200 per year which does not include any energy.
They must earn millions of pounds for not selling anything!!0 -

This cost goes some way towards the base cost of operating the network, it cost them to have to maintain the lines and pipes to your house regardless of how much energy you use.
They receive this as part of their total income, their total profit is however very low, if the standing charge were removed then the unit cost would go up, it is simple economics.0 -
As above this question posted multiple times .Old method was first xxx units charged at a higher price .No shopping around for a better deal .0
