Advice - Mortgage Payment Date

Tomorrow I am moving the DD for the mortgage payments to our joint account. (Mortgage hasn't been drawn yet)
I am thinking of setting it up to come out on the 4th of each month...
Reasons:...
My payday is 28th of each month (GF's before normally)
4th will give us a few days to transfer (standing order) to the joint account from our personal accounts, we will probably transfer on the 1st of each month.
I generally over worry about these situations.
Does this sound wise?
