Swap Tax code - 2 Jobs

Hi,
Presently I have a full time job and i will be starting my 2nd job(part time- 4 months contract).
My 2nd job will have a much higher salary therefore is it possible for me to get the tax code 944L for the new job and change present job tax code to BR.
I plan to reduce the hours in the full time as well.
1) Since I dont get a P45 can I mention in the Starter pack that the new job is my first job.(Is this leagal even I still have the other job?) Then call HMRC to request to change the Present job tax code to BR. Or do i need to tell my Present job employer to change it for me.
2) Please suggest any other better way if available?
Thank you in advance

Will you be earning over £9449 in your current job in this tax year?
If you will then your best option is to leave your tax code alone and pay BR on your new job. Don't forget that if the two jobs take you into 40% tax band you will underpay tax for the year.0
