Middle Name

I rang solicitors today as we are exchanging tomorrow he mentioned Santander put my middle name as Marie on the mortgage documents and should be Maria. He said its fine we have amended it.

Could this stop us from exchanging????im panicking! They ran a check on me when we first put the offer in so I know they have 100% credit checked me they have my passport as well which states Maria so not sure how they got it wrong

My solicitor advised me that the Mortgage Offer, Contract, and Land Registry document must all match. We had to get mortgage offer reissued as the offer did not have my partners middle name. Even though it was on the Contract, Land Registry docs, ID etc.

My solicitor informed me today it was all ok and that we are still exchanging tomorrow god no sleep for me tonight! x

Santander may not have done a credit check on you, they have done it on someone with Marie as a middle name, it be that if they re did it as Maria, it may pick up other issues?


When you say "he said it's fine we have amended it" what have you amended and how? - hopefully your solicitor hasn't just tippexed the incorrect spelling!


I think you should query this again with your solicitor, as it seems they are now liable for this.


The mis-spelling would be from who-ever input your case (branch?) they obviously did not cross-check your name to your ID.
