  • Afternoon.. Up and about early this morning.. Having my car buyer coming to check our car for the millionth time.... I pray there will be no problems and he will see a huge hole in it that has appeared in the last few days (not!!!) Cant wait for this to be all over.. Have seen a lovely Citroen C3 we want to get... A million times more economical and doesn't resemble the local school bus !!!

Have been through our freezer and reckon we can eat for at least 2 months with the meat and fish in there. Also had a good ferret around in our kitchen cupboards.. Have 12 litres of oil a 25kg sack of potatoes and lots of pasta and basics, salt. tea, sugar, coffee lentils etc.. I think until Christmas day we can live off the stores..

Just before writing this message bought buy one get one free large chicken in Teskows for £6 (for 2).. Have started jointing all my chickens so only ever cook the amount of pieces necessary.. Don't have leftovers anymore.. More often than not they would just stay in the fridge till they got thrown out.... With all the extra bits, wing ends and fat have popped all into a saucepan and made a huge pot of stock.. That will go in the freezer (its the second time I have done it this week and now have a lovely few jugs of homemade chicken stock.... My husband is starting to think im a real weirdo.. He WILL get used to this way of life..

Went on my wii fit this morning and had a good old bop around the lounge.. Thank God for curtains.. First goal is to loose 2.5 stones..

Right off to sort the washing that needs drying and the next load on.. x

I will be doing Christmas day this year.. First time ever as I lost my mum 3 years ago... Just will be easier with little ones and their presents.. Then dads for Boxing day and friends up to New Year..
  • Turks, I did a freezer inventory, so now when I meal plan. I just have to check the freezer list rather than freezing checking what's in there every time. I sit usually on a sunday and plan the week ahead and write my plan. it's saving loads as I don't buy anything unnecessary.
I want to loose weight too.

  • Its a very strange feeling Mrs Cheshire not having anything in the fridge just for the fun of it.. Being an Italian food is an integral part of life and there is always nice food to look at and then scoff in the fridge... Now my fridge and kitchen resembles more like old mother hubbards cupboard.. I do feel a bit mean when the little ones want to eat 12 yoghurts and I grumble at them.. But more often than not they carry on.. Neither of them are huge eaters (but they are good eaters quality wise).

Have just gone round photographing a stack of stuff to pop on ebay as its free weekend.. I have a feeling that tonight and tomorrow night is going to be busy x

Hope you have a good day Mrs Cheshire x
  • How old are your kids? I've got 2 boys 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. They would eat fruit and yogurt constantly if I gave them the chance. Our fridge always looks full on shopping day but empty the day before shopping day. I don't mind too much as I know nothing's being wasted and I can easily clean it!

  • Are you living in my house?? Ha ha sounds exactly like my fridge and children ha ha. They are girls 2 & 5 x
  • Wow have been missing in action 10 days and it has been a really rubbish few days.. Trying to drag myself along..

Well the saga with the car continued. After confirming and reconfirming with said 150 year old car buyer that he was definitely interested (he came about 10 times to keep checking it was still in same condition over 2 week period) I paid off the HP by scraping every single solitary penny I possessed.. That included kids xmas present money, our food money, petrol money the lot.. As I knew that once the car was sold could pop it all back in its correct places..

So he came on the Saturday confirmed everything was fantastic and we would see him on Sunday morning to exchange money etc.. Well you guessed it 6,30 sunday morning we get a call to say that after not having slept all night his wife couldn't handle a manual car (she is seriously 85 and as doddery as hell im surprised she should be driving at all ) but hadn't they thought of this before wasting our time?? and where can I find all the money that I used now?? Have tried to put it back up for sale but being Christmas the likelihood of selling it now is pfffff UNLIKELY !!! Only one good thing, no more loan.. Have decided wont rob peter to pay paul this month so have £300 worth of Tescos double up vouchers and love it or not that is where everyone will get their pressies from... I already have squirrelled away quite a few bits for the girls and dad and brother already so its not as bad as im worrying about.. Me and hubby will just get something very very little.. Its the thought that counts as they say...

To add insult to injury have now had something awful happen to my shoulder calcification of the joint where it has just seized up and cannot move it and in horrific pain.. Been on Morphine for days which were useless.. Have finally had another scan and a steroid injection and it looks like it has worked.. Im praying.. I cannot drive or do anything with it at the moment.. Its been an awful few days.. Just cried like an idiot !!! Therefore to make things worse cannot drive (save money on petrol) and cannot use that arm (so dads offered to cook xmas day ( saved money there too !!)

Have just sold a whole lot of items on ebay (with the sole idea of paying the money to my credit cards) and have just popped £507 onto the first card YAYYYYYYYYYYY I know that we haven't got any money to survive this month but my rationale is telling me that I could spend £500 in 1 day and for it never to be seen again but if I scrimp around we will get through this month and next month start anew hopefully the car will sell so the money will come back into my little accounts at that time.. x

Right that's it for me tonight.. Going to bed now as done too much today and have to put my arm back in its sling... :O(
  • Turks, you'll get through. Our months been similar with only £40 per week for groceries but we're managing and it's really focused the food I am buying!
