I am in the unfortunate position of having a poor credit rating due to matters outwith my control being sequestrated in 2009 with it being discharged in 2010 after one year bankruptcy. (scottish law)
My employment background is administration - the trouble I am finding now is that every job I try to apply for - due to poor credit rating through the sequestration I am failing credit checks which is blocking almost every employment opportunity.
I have no debt, have maintained a clean credit record for 4 years, never been in arrears with any bills, scoring excellent in every other category bar the sequestration.
I am trying to increase my credit score to gain employment not to borrow money but I can't even get the credit cards for bad credit.
Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to gradually increase the score in the hope of helping my employment chances???
Thanks.

What type of jobs are you applying for? As far as I am aware, only jobs in financial services will credit score you, or maybe the Police Force, others shouldn't.
