Can anyone offer some advise please?
I contacted Edwin Mutton from the IPM regarding a prize not being fulfilled. Basically part of a prize I won was £200 to spend a Very.co.uk but when I wanted to spend it I was told that as I have an account with a sister company which is in arrears, I wouldn't be able to spend the £200 until the account was cleared. I have seen this condition mentioned in other competitions but it was not mentioned in the Ts&Cs of this one
The IMP passed my complaint onto the ASA who upheld the complaint. I am correct in thinking that the ASA only advises Very that future competitions must state this in Ts&Cs but doesn't have the authority to make them fulfill the prize?
If so, I guess I should email Very to tell them I believe I am entitled to the full prize?

Wine is made to be drunk, I am drunk, therefore am I wine?

Doesn't cost anything to try an e-mail - neither the IPM or ASA can force them to honor a prize, the outcome of "don't do it again" is the usual one when a complaint has been upheld.0

Thanks mjm, that's what I though with regards to enforcement. I'll drop them an email this evening. As you say doesn't hurt to ask.Wine is made to be drunk, I am drunk, therefore am I wine?0

When the T&Cs say "arrears" do they mean if you have another catalogue account and you're paying it off each month and have kept up with payments? Or do they mean if you haven't kept up payments? That bit has always confused me.2019 Wins

I think they mean you are actually behind in your payments0
