Completing on Friday and silent solicitor

Hi there,
I'm a bit nervous with my house due to complete on Friday. I've spoken to almost everyone involved (mortgage provider, property owner) and they're all happy...
However, I've tried emailing and calling my solicitor to confirm if everything's OK on her side and I haven't heard a peep!
I transferred the full completion money well over a month ago along with the Exchange deposit.
If I have a legal completion date, can my solicitor screw it up by not doing the needful? What are the consequences if she doesn't do her job or there's something holding things up that I don't know about?

Update: Just spoke to the bank to check again and she hasn't completed a "Certificate of Title". I'm told this takes 5 minutes!
Just left another message... I'm guessing that on receipt of this a bank could take 5 minutes or 5 weeks to process it?0 -
Is everything in place for everyone else in the chain and is everyone agreed on this completion date?
I suspect not, as if it was, the solicitor would be able to exchange contracts.
You do not have a legal completion date until everyone is in agreement and contracts have been exchanged.I am a mortgage broker. No, we exchanged a month ago and everything is in place along the chain to complete this Friday (29th). I'd been told by my solicitor everything is in hand and just rolled with it.
The thing missing seems to be this Certificate of Title which I understand is between the solicitor and the bank to enable them to release funds?
My worry is that if we have a legal completion date and my solicitor hasn't done the paperwork that lets the bank release the money then I won't pay for the house and my end up in trouble?0 -
Trust your solicitor to do what's needed.
They will know when they need to get the report on title to the lender to order the money.
If you can't get to speak to them, ask the selling agent if they have heard that completion is set for Friday, as expected.I am a mortgage broker. To be honest, at this late stage if my solicitor could not email back to say "all in hand" i would not be happy as its things like that which take 30 seconds but make the whole thing a lot less stressful.
Is there nobody else you can speak to?
Im sure it will be ok but a little reassurance goes a long way.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
