Candy Crush Crashing

Options
Hoping someone here can help. I've been playing Candy Crush for some time now ( currently on level 404, how sad is that ! ). I just play on my HTC Desire C ( Android ), it's not linked to my Facebook account or anything. This morning I started playing, made a few moves, then it popped up a message saying "Unfortunately Candy Crush Saga has stopped running", then boots me out of the game.

I've gone into Apps and "Force Stop", I've stopped everything in Task Manager, I've rebooted the phone, I've stopped all unwanted apps thinking it may be memory-related. Still it crashes. Any ideas ? Or is this just its way of telling me I've been wasting far too much time and now I need to go cold turkey :-)

  • In Donkey Kong, there is a thing called a crash screen. Basically, once you've got as far as you can get in the game, it just crashes.

Maybe you're a hero and you've succesfully completed the game?

    Maybe you're a bit of a geek too? :)
  • Donkey Kong, now there's a blast from the past :)

Thanks for your suggestion, however I've not completed the game, not by a long chalk. I'm keen to catch up with my friend who's 20 levels ahead of me, grrrr !
  • Go into your settings - apps - force close and then clear cache - do not clear DATA otherwise that will wipe all your progress!
  • Thanks for the suggestion, still no joy I'm afraid :( I've even checked to see if there are any updates available, but there don't appear to be. Last ditch resort I may download some antivirus software and see what it says.

I think I've cracked it, after much fiddling about. In case this proves helpful to anyone else ....

Go into settings ... power and untick the "Fast Boot" option. Then turn the phone off, then back on again. I'd already tried doing a restart, and turning it off and on. But I gather that if FastBoot is ticked then it doesn't really shut down completely. You learn something new every day :)

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

Oh dear, do I detect more pointless "post-count-building" posts before a spam attack is launched ?
  • And don't forget waterproof mascara will be hard to be removed.

Am I smelling a pork and ham product too?
