Couldn't get a slot for the 24th at midnight, had to book for the 23rd which was fully booked this morning. Also had to pay for delivery because Monday isn't included in my delivery saver option.

I had a leaflet to say that slots couldn't be booked until the 27th some must have been booked before that.
  • For those of you who missed out on a Christmas delivery slot from Mr T, I've just checked on A5da's website and there are still a few vacant slots for 23rd Dec in this area so it might be worth checking on what's available in yours. Hope you all manage to sort something out.

I received an email from ASDA on 23rd November saying bookings would be accepted from then for slots up until Christmas. (Not sure if this was only for those with a Delivery Pass as usually slots only become available three weeks in advance).

I have just checked and slots are still available at all times on Saturday and Sunday before Christmas. Also for late on Monday 23rd. No deliveries were ever offered for 24th December.

Look on the bright side though, 24th is VERY late if something crucial is unavailable!

Indeed. I think that ASDA made the right decision not to offer Christmas Eve deliveries for that reason. I'm not sure whether Click And Collect will operate up until Christmas Eve.

Tesco only goes up to 19th from my shop. I have delivery saver so wonder if this is store dependent and the dates will be released soon?

Actually, I don't mind too much if I don't get in essay reserved one from asda for the 23rd just incase I didn't get tesco one when they are released ;-)

Just be mindful of stuff being out of stock if you're ordering really close to Christmas Day, there were a lot of empty shelves just before Christmas when things had sold out in our Tesco/Asda.
  • I've just managed to bag a Sainsbury's slot for 23rd which'll do for me.

I normally online shop every 6 weeks or so but in December I do an early order (coming this Friday) with the non perishable stuff in it, so the late order on the 23rd only has the perishable items on it hopefully minimising the risk of items not being available. At worst I can get cream etc. from our local farm shop if Sainsbury's don't deliver it but this strategy has worked for a few years with few problems.

  • Sainsburys only goes up to the 23rd. Simply not worth it. Imagine if the van breaks down or bad weather!

I got in early one year, booked a delivery slot near to Christmas Day, stocked my trolley with lots of lovely goodies and sat back with a smug grin on my face...

..which was wiped off when the delivery arrived, as loads of items were out of stock by the time they collected my order from the shop, so I had to trek out and go shopping elsewhere anyway!

Ocado is better, as their goods come from a warehouse not a shop. I have only ever had one item that couldn't be delivered.

Sorry for the silly question but why can't you book the slot then do the shopping at a later date?
The option is to go straight to payment but I thought you could reserve the slot now , shop later.

You have to add goods to your basket when you reserve it, I have a slot for 20th Dec reserved, but I just put expensive wine in to take it up to £50, then next week I will amend it and add the items I want for xmas shop, hope that makes sense.
