Health vs Money - Gym

Health is wealth. If you do sign up for the gym, push yourself, but don't hurt yourself. Take it easy; aggravating injury will kill any momentum you gained from working out.0

what committee are you taking about? there seems to be an increase in people posting any rubbish just to build up their post count to be able to spam the site
back to the thread, we have a scheme like the one Gold Dust mentioned, where you can get a referral from your GP, it's called 'exercise on referral' scheme, you'd get a discount (not free here) as well as extra support from instructors who are trained in helping people with a variety of medical conditions.
The choice will depend on your health authority area, but here they give a choice of aqua-aerobic type of workout or using machines.
Definitely worth going for it, because of the discount as well as the additional support. Once you know what you are doing there is nothing to stop you from doing things at home if you can't afford to pay gym membership.
Like you I was not offered it, I had to ask for it by name and got an appointment with the nurse to fill in a form.0 -
here's some links for you, don't know if any of these applies to you, but at least you have some pointers
