supermarket ppc

I have 2 queries:

1). I recently received a ppc invoice for £70, £40 if paid in 14 days for parking in a disabled bay at my local supermarket. I mistook the bay for a parent and todler bay as they are in the same area. Naive new mom!

Now the problem is i didnt now about the dos and don'ts of ppc so i emailed them before i received the NTK letter and from what i have read on here my points of appeal wasn't very strong either.

This ticket was placed on the windscreen, do you know if they take pictures aswell?

And how do i go about digging myself out?

2). I certainly don't have the luck of the Irish because 3 days earlier to the above i went to meet up with a colleague at a retail park close to where she lives and we spent quite a bit of time shopping, had lunch, browsing not to mention the time spent in changing rooms feeding and so fort with the babies, she had twins.

Long and short of it is we both got a NTK £40 invoice for overstaying but i have got some pretty good information on here about this so i am about to appeal to the ppc regarding this one.

What i want to know is it best to email or write the apeal?

Any help would be appreciated especially on #1 as i am feeling very overwhelmed dealing with both at the same time :-(

Thanks

2). I certainly don't have the luck of the Irish

Are you based in Northern Ireland and/or did the parking event(s) take place there?

  • Hi i'm based in London and the parking events also took place in London.
  • The same applies to both the invoices - appeal.

Personally I prefer email as it's free ( no stamp etc ) - just as long as the PPC allows an email appeal.

You need to read this thread as well - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
  • Hi i have already appeal to the supermarket ticket for the disabled bay but from what i have. read in the newby sticky i should have waited for the ntk letter before appealling so will my hastiness affect my chances? and do they take pictures in supermakets?

so will my hastiness affect my chances?
No it just costs the PPC less money.
do they take pictures in supermakets?
Doesn't really matter if they do a photo of your car doesn't prove anything.

Regarding 1) ... see the thread referenced in my signature and read the sections relating to appealing as a driver.

The same thread will help regarding 2) also.
  • Just to share i got the ppc ticket for the supermarket disabled bay infringement cancelled today via complaining to the manager route.

    1 down 1 to go :-))

Nice! A good start! Please name and shame the PPC and praise/name the Supermarket so I can add your success to the 'successful complaints about PPCs' sticky thread.

Smartparking issued me a ticket for parking in a disabled bay mistakenly because they are confusinly next to the parent and toddler bays which was my intended parking spot. So after reading the advice on here i complained to Asda park royal and the got it cancelled which is just brilliant of them x
