At the time I was having a bad run of luck and the money helped to 'cheer me up' and cover up to friends and family the fact that actually I was financially struggling.I-Want-To-Move wrote: »I wasn't struggling when i took the loan out.
At least try to keep the story straight.

I think that he meant he wasn't struggling at the time when he took out the loan, but he then found himself in difficulties and only then he squandered the money he was loaned that he didn't want to cover up the situation with his family and friends...0 -
Some of the absolute crap spouted on here from the holier than thou brigade is quite frankly appalling.
It's been the same for years, get a life you sad little people.0 -
I have to say it's clear that OP could have made better decisions, but he came here for advice not to be treated with sarcasm.0

He had very good advice - everybody said he had to repay what he borrowed.BadBehaviour wrote: »I have to say it's clear that OP could have made better decisions, but he came here for advice not to be treated with sarcasm.0 -

Most of the posters yes, not all of them (I myself have't said that, though I agree
); a couple or so (Scrootum to name one) just highlighted how he spent the money he"was forced to" borrow and shouldn't have done so, so basically tough luck.
That's not advice.
OP had already acknowledged he made a mistake in subsequent posts.
I imagine that poster who made that comment about the "holier than thou brigade" was referring to the attitude of some people who seem to be above making mistakes and apparently always do the right, sensible thing.0
