I never got around to phoning them. I may do so this week instead but I need to arrange my life cover really before I sell the policy.

Well F&C auctions called me yesterday to see how they got on with their quotes, I told them that they had been beaten so the guy offered me a firm fixed quote that was higher than all my others quotes .

Wow that's great! Have you accepted? I've not rung them yet as I am trying to sort out the life insurance. I must do soon though. I've asked some of the others if they can increase their offers but not F&C yet.

He's sending out the paperwork. I wouldn't tell him what the others had offered just that his top end quote was beaten, so he offered me another £250 on top of my highest offer for my main endowment and another £150 over the highest bid for my smaller endowment. I will double check the paper work and if all is in order accept their offer although I am a little worried about what Edinvestor said:

I would avoid the traders who offer to find a buyer, only considering those which will buy direct.You can wait for months otherwise.

I will need to establish how he is going to do it.

I called NU this morning and hopefully should have the life assurance sorted shortly .
