Used to spend a bit of time on this forum. Banter, arguments, debate, and all that. Quite entertaining.
Eventually I got tired of reading "the same old", so I only visit once in a while.
I note that the usual suspects are still arguing their case.
Hamish is still worshipping at the altar of HPI. Graham is still getting lots of stick because he doesn't attend the HPI church. RenoMan, aka ??? is probably on his way to yet another username, and I suspect that Sibley is still playing with his sword.

Hi Derv
Ring the changes. Find something to debate that we haven't discussed recently or before. I'm bored with house price discussion but quite like the broader economy stuff. There are a lot of good posters still around, even if at times they lurk rather than post. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I still quite happy with house price stuff but I'm getting fed up with all the the snipping.0 -

Fatigue is setting in to a degree. As there's no quick fixes or solutions. With hindsight, 5 years of low base rates and various Government support initiatives for the banks. Show how perilously close the UK economy was too collapse if the major banks had defaulted. .0 -

....Hamish is still worshipping at the altar of HPI.
While you were away, he promoted himself to preacher. Another 3 years and HPI will be worshipping him.....Graham is still getting lots of stick because he doesn't attend the HPI church.
His attendance is certainly less frequent these days. But he can't read the hymn sheets properly, and so brings his own. Written in crayon. But even then, he sings them totally and utterly out of tune with everyone else. We do humour him though.....RenoMan, aka ??? is probably on his way to yet another username,
The word is he'll change it to "PPR'd" to save everyone's time.....and I suspect that Sibley is still playing with his sword.
Very much so, but it's getting a bit blunt now. He keeps getting told to use a grinder but he just says it's her day off.0 -
Hi Derv.
I think your criticisms are pretty much spot on.
The board tends to have quite a narrow focus which probably doesn't help.
Anyway mate. Hope all's well. It's a glorious day in paradise, 24C with a light breeze. It'll be 30 tomorrow and then rain on Friday just in time for the weekend. Oh well.0 -

With any luck the next Test will be rained off and we'll soar to a glorious draw.
Oh - forgot ; Alice Springs, does it ever rain there?0 -

I was chatting to a proper Aussie cricket fan today and the point was made that players like Cook and Pietersen haven't suddenly become rubbish. Their ~50 averages show us that they can bat a bit.
It's not unknown for it to rain in Alice Springs. It's hardly the norm though. The below made the national news (it's Uluru/Ayers Rock BTW):
