IE11: Problems Using MSE

This morning my computer decided to download & install IE11.

Now I find smilies on MSE only work if I cut & paste. When I inserted a Tinypic code, a huge empty space appeared above and below the picture.

I don't think the problems and the download are unrelated.

Anyone else finding similar problems?

  • Yes, I have problems.

No smileys, no quote button, sometimes the cursor vanishes.

And no one on here has come up with a solution other than use another browser.

Which is not a solution to the problem on why IE11 does that.
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

Several other people have reported the same. vBulletin, the forum software, is known for having problems with more recent versions of IE. Short of a forum software upgrade by MSE (or backported fix), I haven't yet seen any way around the IE11 issues.

May be worth reporting to MSE and/or posting on site feedback, as least so the MSE team are aware of how many people are coming up against this.

  • Any way to remove IE11 and go back to IE10.

There is no remove option in Windows 8.1. add remove programs.

  • IE11 is integrated into 8.1, prior IE versions are not compatible

I've been rejected from a few surveys , recently, due to the browser not being compatible .

I did have smilies problems, until someone pointed out the little button that's top right in the dialogue box.

    Thanks for the replies.

Someone has just sent me a v. important PDF and I cant seem to download that either. I get a message bubble saying "save to my computer" but it doesn't and there's no choice of where to save it.

Think I will do a roll back to Monday.

Well I never. I'd never taken any notice of that Switch Editor Mode button but it certainly does get around the current problem :)
