RAGE!! Prize not available!!

So, posted the other day I won a choice of three fantastic cruises with Cunard

Anyway, very short notice as they informed me yesterday - Monday - that I was a winner, but all three cruises leave within the next two weeks! Chose one to leave this Saturday, moved mountains to get the time off work etc, heard back from them today to say sorry its full, choose one of the other two cruises leaving the following week. Doesnt sound like a big deal but I had my heart set on this Saturday's cruise, the other two get back just before Christmas and getting time off is impossible.

So angry!! Wish I didnt win it to be honest. Ill think twice before entering anymore holiday comps.

Surely they shouldn't be offering it as a prize if it is fully booked?!

Don't normally comment but this is dreadful - I read your original post, you were so excited and now it's ruined:(

Surely if they were offering a place as a prize one should be available. Unless one of the other winners grabbed it first?

Whatever the circumstances, I would not let this lie.

Saw your first post and was excited for you, this is wrong take this further as they are not honouring the prize offered. :mad:

Thanks! Yes massively annoyed! Although reading their terms, it does mention they can provide an alternatve if the preffered cruise is full (i.e the other two that leave in just under two weeks)

There were three winners and three cruises, but we all could choose the same cruise if we wanted.

Ridiculous!

Did they initially confirm the Saturday one then come back to you saying it was full?

Check for booking as if you are a paying customer(or get a friend to). I find it hard to believe they are really fully booked.

I did see the 'sold out' before, but just presumed the prize already had rooms held on it.

The lady from Cunard emailed me with the three to pick from, I emailed her back today and said i'd like to do Saturdays and she said no problem. Then a few hours later came back saying sorry its full!

That's awful - so sorry to hear that! If one of the prizes on offer is unavailable they should really provide a third option. If you can't do either of the other cruises, perhaps it would be worth phoning them and suggesting one of the cruises you could do - after all, if you could do another date in the future they should really be able to book you on to that. If they're not cooperating, phone the IPM!
