Scanned my resignation to my boss today. Just waiting now for confirmation from HR of my leaving date. I plan to lie about in bed (as I have been doing for the past 4 months anyway, on sick leave), take the dog out for lovely long winter walks, and indulge in some housework now and again.

Before anyone leaves any !!!!!y remark, I am not claiming any benefits whatsoever. I may, however, watch some Jeremy Kyle. Yay for well paid husbands!!!! :T

I have no idea what is wrong with you, but 7 years ago my wife did this, because of ME (Chronic Fatigue).

Do your husband a favour, if you can't actually work, claim the benefits you are entitled to, and don't apologise for being ill. The irony of the 2 things might (just might) start to !!!! him off.

Really? 4 months is nothing in terms of long sick.

Actually the OP would have been well within their rights to have waited it out for the company to have dismissed them through capability (Thus getting money through holiday pay), or looked to have negotiated a compromise agreement.

lol i suppose i am gloating a little. I am mostly capable of working but ive had a !!!!!! year and have decided my employer should get someone that is fit and well and up to the stress of the job. my husband hasnt always earnt a lot of money, and thats not my main reason for giving up work.

sorry if i have sounded like im gloating but its just plain weird to think about not having to worry about sick notes, how colleagues are coping, the idea of returning to a very busy job, and being able to just breathe and chill out for a while, be it permanent or temporary. I may get fed up with Jeremy Kyle!
