Contract

Ok so we are exchanging contracts on Wednesday but I went to pick it up today to take home for OH to sign and they have spelt my name wrong. My name is Joanna and it states Joanne. I have written my name on top but will it mean they have to re issue it? x

What does the mortgage offer say? What does your ID say?

call your solicitor and get it amended. You should be able to amend by hand as long as you and your witness also initial the amendment, but your seller will also need to amend their copy of the contract.

So long as your mortgage offer has been issued in the correct name and your solicitor knows the correct spelling then there shouldn't be a problem. The contract can be hand amended (your solicitor will add details to it by hand when they exchange) with no need for anyone to initial or witness anything.
