Currently getting ctc, WTC &hb while dh works full time. He's going through disciplinary with a strong likelyhood of dismissal.
I put in a jsa claim but have no contributions in qualifying years due to pt work then mat leave and staying home to look after baby.
Is it worth all the hassle and pressure of signing on for no money so that whenhe's finally sacked he can be added immediately to my claim, or will the length of time taken be about the same as starting a fresh claim? Can I even sign off without a job?

He'll most likely be sanctioned for 6 months anyway.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

We have a child so he'd be my dependent rather than it being a joint claimMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

A first sanction is 13 weeks I believe these days, not 6 months.0 -

Why are you signing on when you are getting child tax credit, working tax credit and housing benefit. Are you claiming JSA so that if hes sacked he can be added to your claim and avoid a sanction?
I don't know what you mean about signing off either? Just be aware if you make a claim for JSA you will be regarding as a job seeker and need to be actively looking for work.0 -
I am actively looking & following my agreement as he won't be working much longer, but I was wondering whether it was necessary or if I should have just waited til he wasn't working.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
