Hi everyoine
I am a long lapsed OS-er and the time has come to start again. I have an unexpected day at home without children/work/dh interrupting me and my thoughts have turned to being the OS queen I used to be (well, in my head anyway
)
So what shall I do first?
Need a bit of motivation to get my big bottom off this chair and actually do some of the OS things I enjoy so your suggestions will be much appreciated.

Depends on what NEEDS to be done! Have you had a look at the flylady threads? Or the daily? Do you need to catch up with some baking or batch cooking? Is there something bugging you in the house that should have been done ages ago? Do you have any clothes to fix or turn up or do you need to get some deep cleaning done?
LOL I've been going through this list this morning! It's too long to get done in one day but slow and steady wins the race!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
When I have a bit of spare time, I put the breadmaker on and make a cake - cherry today
However, if you normally have to go to work, why not pamper yourself a bit - it's much more fun than housework :rotfl:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Oh dear GH I need to do all of the above! Have not been doing ANYTHING old style since at least Christmas, if not before. So once the house is tidy (hopefully won't take too long) I suppose I should concentrate on the biggies?
Meal plan and corresponding shop (lidl is closeish)
Do some basic batch cooking (beef mince/onion/tomato sauce, to be used for chilli/spag bol/cottage pies/lasagne etc etc used to be my batch cook saviour)
Got a bit of a pile of washing building up so will do that too
Is there a "How to be OS in a flash" thread that will remind me of what the basics are? Thinking along the lines of something that would give me a refresher in the main OS things to do to keep me ticking over- then I can dip down into the big stuff when I have more time again.0 -
Hi Louisa,
This welcome sticky thread might be a good place to start:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=56929
It provides an overview of Oldstyle.
There is a Where to start section that talks through starting with the storecupboard challenge, cleaning links, monthly grocery challenge, menu planning, pin moneysavings and the collections.
Hope that helpsThanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
