Hi

My local pc world is selling a tv which I am interested in. However saverstore.com have the same tv for less. It just so happens that saverstores office/pickup point is 5 mins down the road from my local pc world. After informing pcworld of this I got the following email reply:

Our Price Promise applies to cheaper identical product or offers available from another retail store within 30 miles of a PC World store. If you have evidence of this, we will not only match their price, but also give you an extra 10% of the difference.

The Price Promise applies for up to 7 days after you make your purchase with us, just bring your receipt to store to claim your refund. Please note that this does not apply to clearance or ex-display products,special offers, closing down sales, extended guarantee or Internet prices.

Now my first question is what is the definition of a retail store? If you google 'define retail store' it does not specifically mention a shop/showroom where goods are on display and sold.

My second question is on the pc world site there is no mention in their Ts&Cs that they dont match internet prices. On the price promise page they just specify what they have mentioned in the first paragraph of their email to me

Hi,

If you can't visit a store to purchase a product it isn't classified as a retail store. Collecting from a warehouse isn't the same. The offer they match will be one which is available in-store, so internet prices won't apply.
