Gateau

Options
I would love to buy a gateau that isn't all airy cream and not a lot else, the small versions for about £1.50 in tesco serve about 2 if you actually want to feel like you have eaten something. Would like something with more sponge and less air filled cream. Used to buy Sara Lee but doesn't seem to be around any more. Fresh or frozen, though frozen is generally cheaper, and from sainsburys, tesco, lidl'sor iceland, no Aldi, asda or waitrose near me, though m and s at a long shot. Thanks:)

Chocolate gateau always seems to be the most dense to me. But I do love a black forest one.

They are the two I generally buy, but as I said, take all the cream of the outside and there's not much left!

  • Best black forest I've tasted was from Costco, worth every penny at £8 feeds loads.

  • If you have a Farmfoods close by, they do what I think is a great range of gateux for 4.95 each that serve 10-12 if i remember correctly. In that range they do a 10 piece selection that I bought recently and was impressed with. They are Coppenrath and wiese brand.
