good and bad credit mortgage

Hi
My wife and I are looking to purchase a house together next year, for £140-180000.
She owns her own home at the moment with approx £50000 left to repay on a house valued at around £80000. She has a good credit score.
I on the other hand am coming to the end of a DMP with five payments of £450 left. This plan has been running for 18 months and in this time all has been well except for 1 company continually sending default notices every 3 or so months.
I earn £36000 and my wife earns £32000 and we aim to sell her house and raise at least £10000 deposit.
When applying for a new mortgage should it/could it be in her name only? (We don't have any joint accounts/credit) And is it possible to transfer the existing mortgage to a new property, with the added value on top?
Thanks
