Hi All
Welcome to my story and the long road i have to travel, very quickly, if we are to have any life in retirement. After following other stories for years not only is it time but after illness i now feel that i can make progress.
Just starting working part-time for the first time in four years.
A little bit of info married with two girls.
Where did the debt come from, a combination of buying more than we could afford, then three redundancies between us, a bad business decision years ago that we are still paying for and here we are.
I now have the strength to face it all and start to look forward with all of you to help.
Have done a income and expenditure which for now i will keep to myself does not include anything other than money for basics, we have cut everything to the bone.
Have also stopped all lines of credit do not want the total to go up, signature shows the amount at 30/09/13 this year i tend to do an update of our figures every three months. Too depressing every month.
Well this is the start of my journey, i say i because its me that deals with all the bills etc.
Thanks for reading

Hi
Really need to get mor organised and post daily, currently signed up for sealed pot challenge and frugal challenge.
As i have two weeks off for xmas and new year will update amount owing and look at working out a figure for the new year to spend on everything else than the regular standing orders/expenses.
Have to cut food and general budget seems pounds run away from us,need to find a way to keep them.
looking forward to hols as started new job earlier this year and this is my first hol, along with online business (auction sites) its been a busy time. Looking for any other ways to add a few pounds to the pot each month.
Love to read books like Rich Dad, Poor Dad currently working my way through The One Minute Millionaire, which is an unusal book as their are two stories one that is printed on all the left hand pages and one that printed on all the right hand pages. Both are storied about coming our of your comfort zone and planning the future.
Would be happy If anyone can suggest any other good books, business or finance need to look for inspiration.218monthstogo (Government Retirement Date 2034)

Hi
Last year was supposed to be the start of getting life etc in order, however , the best laid plans can go awry and they did a whole year of being ill, seen more docs, hospitals than i want to but have at least now got a diagnosis, so they are hoping that they can get medication right but it may take the rest of the this year to get stable.
So whilst at the moment I cant physically do much the mind is active and i want to start planning for when i can push the button and go full steam ahead.
Looking at a network marketing proposal, starting craft/gift fairs and restarting online stores all of which have had to be stopped.
trying to plug away at debts and mortgage but i will possibly have been out of action (employment) for two years by the time i can get back to work, and with health issues finding work outside the home may be challenge.
Still as a silver lining I am still here and still have opportunities i hope.
