hiya, having got divorced and settle for the endowment I need for the Pru to put the docs in my name alone ... they say I need a deed of assignment ... (why they cant do it based on copies of the divorce paperwork i dont know - and why they cant provide such paperwork is beyond belief )
Does anyone know where i can get such a deed of assignment for cheap ... and or how much a solicitor might charge for this?
thanks in advance

Divorce paperwork doesnt cover the legal changes required. The deed of assignment is a legal document.and why they cant provide such paperwork is beyond belief
Some do provide a generic version. Prudential do issue a number to cover certain scenarios. However, they cant cover all scenarios. In many cases like this you would expect the solicitor to draw one up. It is not beyond belief.
Have you asked Pru to supply the form or was your question just a case of asking what was required? Remember that the telephone staff act on your instructions. Asking what is required is not the same as asking for the form for example.Does anyone know where i can get such a deed of assignment for cheap ... and or how much a solicitor might charge for this?
Ask your solicitor.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Ask the Pru if they have a pro-forma, but double check it is the correct one before you sign.
If you have a solicitor acting for you then they will be able to draw one up ad this will not be very expensive. However, if you don't currently have a solicitor and instruct one solely to do this, it will probably be a little more as they will need to open a file, check ID, check the order to see what you need, etc.All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
