Didn't know answer to CC application question

I have been a customer of Lloyds TSB all my life. Never used another bank.

I just signed up for a 0% CC with RBoS and one of the questions was how long have you had your current credit card (or something similar)
I don't have a clue - so i guesstimated it :naughty: :embarasse

How do you find this stuff out?

I am hoping to get another 0% card - but will wait a week or so for payday to reduce the balance of my existing CC.

If the info is on a credit report:
1. - Am i in troble if my guess is incorrect?
2. - Will my searching for my credit info have an impact on getting the 2nd card i want ??

What should i do and how do i find out that kind of info?

thanks all
George

I'm in a similar situation with First Direct, was originally as a kid with Midland and opened a Current Account with them at 17 ish when a college. So I put down 23 Years Banking with First Direct, who I don't think have been around that long.

To be honest I think they have bands they credit rate you on like your job, same bank 5/10 years plus good score three banks in 5 years bad score, or something like that, so I wouldn't be too bothered it's never been questioned when I've applied for loans or CC's.
    Cheers

    Thanks guys

Was putting off looking at a credit report incase that search showed up and it counted against me. Will look at the creditexpert site and see what's going on. Do you think i should contact the RBoS if my details for that question are innacurate?

Looking at your credit rating/score doesn't count against your credit score it is only other applications that show up ,loans, mortgage, and credit cards.
Don't bother contacting the bank if there is any kind of processing problem they will phone you that is why you supply your phone details.
    Be patient.
    Good luck
