Timbuk2 is a San Francisco original brand. Founded in a San Francisco garage in 1989 by a bike messenger named Rob Honeycutt, Timbuk2 have manufactured in the city’s Mission District ever since. Rob made products that served his needs as a messenger. They needed to be quick to access, comfortable for all day wear, super robust and obviously have the San Francisco flair. Rob had a huge drive, a knack for branding, and an obsession with just-in-time manufacturing.
Timbuk2 brought customisation to the masses. Selling custom messengers to bike shops across the USA in the 90s and launching the first online customiser in 1999. This technology will be landing on the UK shores in 2013. The Timbuk2 product range has grown to include luggage, laptop bags and accessories but the made in San Francisco custom messenger bag remains at the heart and soul of the company.
