christmas charity fun day ideas

My friend is holding a fare in aid to raise money for the Philippines typhoon appeal charity with all proceeds going to the charity. I'm in charge of the craft table. Has anyone got any ideas of what I can make in bulk that sell fast and cheap to make? I'm already making cards xx

  • Are there going to be many children coming?

If so maybe you could put together mini craft kits? Like a beaded bracelet kit, or some cut felt shapes and thread/buttons for finger puppets, or a Christmas Card kit?

It would be much quicker than having to make something if you were just putting together the materials, plus kids always love making things.
  • I was at a fair today and a woman had melted crayons into shapes (presumably using ice cube moulds etc) then put some in clear cellophane bags on their own, others with colouring books (I've seen tutorials on Youtube for this before). You can buy big cheap packets of crayons too. Also small felt Christmas decorations seem to sell well. If I think of anything else I'll let you know :)

From experience, making crayons is really easy to do and you can make all sorts of fun colour combinations and add glitter if you like.

Just make sure before you buy a dozen boxes of crayons that the paper comes off easily. Some brands are glued on so well you have to scrape the paper off and that turns a 15 minute job into a never ending slog.

That's useful to know, I was going to make some for my niece so will get a tester pack first. Cheers
