I'm a gym newbie and find I work out much better with good energetic music, so I'm building myself a playlist. So far, I've got things like:
I Love It-Icona Pop
Diane Young-Vampire Weekend
Play Hard-David Guetta
Mama Do The Hump-Rizzle Kicks
What do you listen to to get yourself moving???

Angry stuff - but then again I'm a rock/metal chick anyway

I ran a BPM analyser on my ITunes collection and now have setup two playlists, one with a lower bpm for gentle exercise and a tunes with a higher bpm for the more frenetic stuff.0

I have all kinds on my iPod but I mostly go for live music from a band I like... the noise of the crowds screaming / singing along brings back memories of concerts for me... and it really puts me in the mood for a workout!0

Mostly I prefer silence!
But I have gone through a phase of Fleetwood Mac's Rumors album lately0 -
I listen to podcasts, or I read.
I need things that make me think so my mind is off and away.0 -
I throw in Gonna fly now (from teh Rocky soundtrack) on my pod cast after about twenty minutes of workout when I'm starting to push myself harder!
Mainly I try to listen to upbeat stuff but at the moment I'm having a real renaissance to the 90's (Britpop mainly) but also dance classics like The Original - I Luv U baby, N-trance - set you free etc. The Verve Urban Hymns album is getting overplayed by me at the minute and have a britpop mix including classics like Shed Seven Disco Down, Longpigs - She Said and an old favourite The Super Furry Animals - Something 4 the weekend.
Ah, the 90's. They were good to me...0 -
Gama Bomb for me at the mo. Fast, chaotic and the lyrics put a smile on my face.0

You'd love my cheerleaders - our last mix involved Rob Zombie and Rammstein, our current one Linkin Park and Powerman 5000, and our next one Rise Against and Andrew WK
