Final Letter Before Court Action - Crawley Lesiure Park - Free Car Park

Had a Final Letter Before Court Action from bpcollings.

The ticket was issued in October 2012, the car park is free. I was parked outside of a bay as there was no spaces, but then, so were about 20 other cars as it was the week the new bond movie came out, so it was heaving.

I am a weekly regular customer to both the cinema (monthly member of cinema) and bowl every week in a league. I have 3x bowling balls and bag, the night question the car park was full, and I have to start bowling at a set time, I have to travel 30 miles to get there.

When I arrived, there was no spaces anywhere, so I parked in an area with no lines. When I came out, I had a ticket, but about another 20 cars had done the same thing. There was still plenty of access, the parking attendant said it was dangerous. The same person advised me to park in the police bays the following week !?

I've been under the impression they can't take me to court as there would be no losses to the land owner. Quite the opposite if I wasn't there or didn't go to that place any more.

Do I continue ignoring or pay the reduced sum? Or try to appeal to the land owner?

Having worked in Crawley for many years I'm pretty sure the car park you parked in is "managed" by one of the small PPC's and so you'll have nothing to fear.

To be sure, who are the PPC ?
  • UK PC Ltd I believe.

:rotfl:UKPC have never done court !!!!

Given how far you have come you have to actions to complete :

    1. Continue to ignore.
    2. Complain the both the "shop" you used and the landowner explaining you will never use them again unless they get the charge cancelled.

    Come back here :

    a) to tell us ( and others ) how you get on
    b) if you get genuine court papers ( I have more chance of waking up with Kelly Brook in my bed next to me than this happening )

A Sussex discussion here then so far, what with Hovite and me replying!

Why not search this parking forum for the key-word 'BP Collins' (spelt like that exactly) and read the other threads already posted about their rubbish letters and UKPC. I just did and saw a few, can't link searches though, you have to do them yourself as the link doesn't last where it's to a search result. Retired solicitor and MSE poster zzzLazyDaisy has posted about how to respond to fake Letters before Action and similar rubbish from this lot.

See the search this forum button on page one along with all the sticky threads that are relevant to you, near the top, such as the 'LBCCC fightback' one, the 'newbies read this now!' one - which includes links about how to respond to debt collectors - and the 'successful complaints about PPCs' sticky thread too.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You seem to have an unhealthy interest in this Kelly Brook gal Mr Blueveined Bat Fink. You could end up wearing Unigate spectacles.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
