I've noticed recently that when I get emails from Monster job search indicating 10 new jobs in the sector that I want to work in, they turn out to be 10 jobs that have no relationship whatsoever with the sector that I want to work in. And it has nothing to do with refining my job searches. They are clearly set to "gym instructor". All I get is driving instructor jobs, construction jobs, and office admin jobs".
And I was at the Shaw Trust yesterday and someone next to me also complained about the same problem.

I know exactly what you mean Martynb, I was looking for Customer Service roles a few months back and I kept getting emails to say 'new job matches' that turned out to be nursing jobs!
I'm glad to say I don't need to look any more.0 -
I signed up to Monster a while back and every job alert they send is a waste of time. Jobs that are 100s of miles away, and not even the kind of work that I set the search to. Totally useless.0

Yes ive found that as well0

best cancel any alerts, and search when you can.

Most jobs from what I heard dont get advertised so worth adding your CV. Re: Monster - I dont really understand their game - I find their whole job site abit complex to search for the relevant jobs and same with the email alerts. But then Monster did build Universal Job match :doh:0

might get more specific contacts, if you start a profile / join relevant groups on linkedin. think a business oriented facebook, and half way there..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
