Although obviously it's advisable, would I be turned down for a mortgage because I don't have life insurance in place?

Thank you, I wasn't sure. I'm going to purchase life insurance, but because of previous surgery I imagine the company will want details from my GP, which might take a few weeks.0

The only time you tend to see it required as a condition of borrowing nowadays in on business loans/mortgages. Not consumer borrowing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
