Jobcentre question about my NI number

Hey, I was just wondering, if i give the job centre my National Insurance number, can they trace any current jobs to that number? For example, if I dont have a bank account they wont know about any jobs I have, but can they trace the NI number back to any current job I may have?

So jet's get this right...you are working and trying to claim JSA? Not sure you will get much help on here.0

Why, what are you trying to hide?
Edit: Just seen your other thread. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/63833884#Comment_63833884Thanks for all your help, things are much clearer for me now. Just to make clear, I wasn't planning on committing any fraud, I just wasn't too clear on the rules, again thanks.0 -
Just checked out their other JSA ( https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4825936= ). Seems they are working 15 hours or so, so won't actually get any JSA payment if their job is declared.
This quote from the other thread does seem to be a big fat lie:Thanks for all your help, things are much clearer for me now. Just to make clear, I wasn't planning on committing any fraud, I just wasn't too clear on the rules, again thanks.0 -
If your working, DWP and HMRC work closely together now
You would eventually be caught out through normal cross referencing between the two.
Hardly the place to be asking to be honest. When its us who would be paying your JSAmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I dont know much about all of this, thats why I was asking. I wasn't planning on going through with anything if it would be illegal, I just wanted to make sure before I made the trip to the jobcentre, thanks again for your help.0

Then why were you asking if they would find out? That only matters if you are planning on going ahead and doing something that you don't want them to find out.0 -
You're more than welcome to sign on if you're working 15 hours a week if you are seeking full time work and want to make sure you get your NI credits. You must declare your work though and won't get any money, just your NI credits.
It can also be worth signing on for no cash if you're interested in taking a college course, joining a gym or similar as there are often discounted fees etc.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

Usually the criterion for discounts is to be in receipt of income based JSA. Contribution JSA doesn't do it, neither does just signing on.0
