Just seen on the 'net that Tesco is getting rid of their 'value range' and revamping it .Sounds like the prices are going up again to me

Getting rid or revamping???0

I can't see that as Tesco are losing market share to Aldi and Lidl so it will be more likely a revamp of the range so it appears to be less benefits banquet.0

Wondering if op isnt talking about last year's change from Value to Everyday Value...0

I hope not, I buy a fair few of the Everyday productsWhether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0

But, they have just done this recently - gone from the blue and white "TESCO VALUE" to "MARKET VALUE"/"EVERYDAY VALUE" - if they keep changing it, I'll never be able to find it!0

Are you sure that you are not reading about the 2012 re-branding of the range?
I can't find anything online to suggest they are changing the line again so quickly, especially as they have just embarked on a relaunch of the Finest line.
I have noticed in my store, that they are scrapping some of those 'Fake' brands that they introduced to mimic Aldi/Lidl and returning the Everyday Value product instead.

I've just read this story on the bbc's news page. The story is dated April 2012 - not sure why it's been revived? (At the time of writing this, the story is at the top of the most popular read stories list.)
For myself, I'm pleased that Mr T has redesigned the packaging - always felt that the utilitarian blue and white stripes were originally designed to put you off buying these products (in favour of the more expensive options) as they stood out a mile in the shopping trolley, although it didn't deter me from buying a variety of items from this range to help keep within budget. In my opinion, the new packaging looks much better and may go some way to persuading more shoppers to try this range of products and so save money.
I seriously doubt that Mr T will abandon a range of value products completely as there's too much competition out there from the other supermarkets.
Long time ago now, but can remember when the blue and white striped offerings were first introduced into our local Mr T. They were displayed in their own aisle and many shoppers looked at the products with a mix of puzzlement and suspicion. Later on the products were moved and placed alongside the regular Mr T products and branded items.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0 -

That happened at my local Morrisons a couple of years ago. They didn't sell any value products at all, then one Monday morning there was one aisle full of just yellow value items. It disappeared after a week or two and slowly value items began appearing in their "proper place".
A woman on the tills told me nobody would even go down the aisle let alone buy one of the products. We had a laugh over trying to work out if they just didn't want to be seen in aisle that contained only value products, or the sea of yellow made them feel sick!0 -
I noticed that on the BBC news website as well this morning. Dated April 2012. They must be having a system blip.Because it's fun to have money!
