home made face scrub

Don't know if this has been done before, but I made a lovely discovery recently.

Clear honey and sea salt is the best face scrub and then mask ever! Honey makes your skin soft and the salt helps to stop puffyness.

Just thought I'd post as its summer and after I used this, I was able to ditch foundation for a week!

Only downer, keep it away from your lips as it tastes so so bad!

And who gets the horrid scaly skin after winter is though? Porrage oats in a clean washing tablet bag used to scrub and its all gone. Supposedly this is good for exhema (sp?) too.

Thanks. What sort of honey did you use and how long did you leave it on for?

i use sugar with honey and olive or grapeseed oil in a body scrub and it works beautifully, as i have a hard time finding sea salt in my local shops.

it tastes better with the sugar too, if you get it on your lips! :D

Doesn't the sugar dissolve more in warm water?

i use it in the shower and stop the water running while applying it, so dissolving doesn't seem to be a problem.

I use clear honey. It happens to be eucalyptus as I love the taste of it, but any will do, so long as it is clear.

Sugar works great too, but the salt has the added bonus of reducing puffyness. Great for legs during the summer to help stop your ankles swelling up.

I got fine Saxa Sea Salt from Asda, have course sea salt too for my roast's, too hard for skin though!
