Hello. Aau1 - I am genuinely saddened to read your news, I'm sure I feel only a tiny percentage of what you do. It's bad at any time of year but, we're told, particularly bad at this time. Sometimes, though, I feel ignoring the 'received wisdom' is a good mechanism to help cope better. At least it's still some weeks away from Christmas and, hopefully, this will allow the sad news not to be associated too much to Christmas. While this year may be hard, in future years hopefully it will be somewhat easier during the season that is still some weeks away. We get back to as normal a life as we can after these things.

Even when it seems everyone around is enjoying Christmas, I can assure you some are not. I know what it's like to have sad news over Christmas - my mother was diagnosed with cancer (which later killed her) on Xmas Eve - we couldn't celebrate Christmas, or much thereafter, that year. It felt awful - I think you have to switch off the TV, everything on there was jolly and, for us, desperately inappropriate. That was a disaster for me and my family.

In a disaster such as this crash, involving several victims, you are certainly not alone in suffering. That may discount the myth that everyone around is enjoying themselves, although it is also desperately sad how many people have lost those they know to this tragedy.

I can only wish you well - you are certainly (but sadly) not alone in being affected by this. All my best.

Thanks for sharing your story, Savvybuyer and thanks to everyone for the kind wishes. It truly means a lot

It's been devastating for the village. It's one of those places where everybody seems to know everybody

I was talking with my wife when i remembered a classic facebook post of his that you'll all appreciate. It went something like this

"Not happy. I let my bread go stale and it had to be chucked. Why am i not happy? Because i paid full price for it. I DONT DO FULL PRICE BREAD"

A lot! Still not up to venturing outside though.

I broke 2 of my ribs a few years back, I found it was about 6 months before it stopped hurting altogether. Unfortunately one of my ribs punctured my lung and I ended up in the cardiac unit with a pneumothorax  I had to have a chest drain in.

You'll never guess what dangerous activity led me to such grief?...............I was changing a lightbulb and fell off a chair :o:o

Velvet classic facial tissue is now £1.75 in T, so net cost against A and 60p coupon in T's mag is 15p.

    Against M is 14p.

Which tissues are these please? I can't see any 75p ones in A

I can now imagine how painful that was fc  10 days ago I wouldn't have believed just how painful fractured ribs are.

I was in hospital for 4 days, but fortunately no major internal damage - I can now even breathe without clinging on to a cushion :rotfl:
