Returned direct debit - Will this effect my application ?

Hi,
We've currently got a mortgage application going through. The broker has asked for 3 months bank statements for both my husband and myself. We both a direct debit bounce back in September for a small, non- mortgage related payment. Both payments later got paid a week later. Apart from these 2 hiccups our bank statements are fine and we have no overdraft.
Does anyone with underwriting experience think this will effect our application ?
Thank you !

Depends on the lender.
Some don't see the bank statements and the broker obtains them for compliance purposes only.
However, if you are applying to a lender like NatWest, it's normally an automatic decline as it treats current account conduct very highly.I am a mortgage broker.
